GROW 2024

For the past few years, GlobeMed at GW has been invited by Set Her Free to send a team of interns to Kampala, Uganda to participate in the GrassRoots On-Site Work (GROW) internship. The GROW interns are responsible for working alongside our partners to help advance their mission, values, and goals, for strengthening our chapter’s partnership, and for bringing all that is learned while on site back to our members.

 

The GROW internship is critical to our chapter’s goal of maintaining a close, mutually-beneficial, and anti-oppressive partnership with Set Her Free. The opportunity to be present in Set Her Free’s programs and operations allows GlobeMed at GW to foster a deeper understanding of Set Her Free’s work and to maintain our partnership over time.

 

This summer, the GROW team anticipates assisting in the development of Set Her Free’s new SHINE Kindercare program, the establishment of a Set Her Free office in Napak district, Karamoja region, and a variety of other tasks and projects that will be determined upon arrival.
