CAMPAIGNS
Each year, GlobeMed at GW hosts two main events: our fall Gala and spring Conference. In addition to being critical fundraisers for Set Her Free, Gala and Conference are community-building, educational, and networking opportunities for anyone interested in supporting our chapter and Set Her Free.
GALA
Every December, GlobeMed at GW hosts an annual Gala, an evening of dinner and conversations in public health. In addition to discussing topics in public health with a panel of experts, attendees are invited to learn about Set Her Free, network, socialize, and eat delicious food. This year's gala theme will be Global Health in Times of Conflict. All ticket proceeds are donated to Set Her Free.
CONFERENCE
Every spring, we host a Conference as part of the GlobeMed network’s Hilltop series. Hilltops are conferences hosted by GlobeMed chapters designed with young public health professionals like ourselves in mind, though anyone is welcome to attend. This spring was our 6th year of our conference, the topic being Refugee and Migrant Health: Navigating Changes in a Mobile World. Previous topics have included occupational health, health issues in D.C., and envisioning public health on a global scale.
