GlobeMed's 7th Annual Conference
We are excited to announce that GlobeMed’s 7th Annual Hilltop Conference will be held on April 6th from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM! This year’s theme, featuring a programming filled with inspiring speakers and engaging workshops, will be Advancing Child Health and Education: From Local to International Policy and Practice!

WHAT'S THE INSIDE SCOOP ON SET HER FREE?
Set Her Free (SHF) recently celebrated Uganda’s Independence Day and International Day of a Girl Child! They continue to work diligently to support the young women and girls of Kampala and have several projects underway. Our Partner Liaison team meets virtually every two weeks with SHF’s co-founders, Robin and Robinah, who provide exciting updates on SHF’s work and developments.
Shine KinderCare
The students currently being taught at Shine KinderCare are doing well! Currently, they are learning how to write, read, and learn numbers. The teachers are also doing great as well as the farm. Currently, they are trying to do more farming that can generate income. The first graduation for the Kindergarten students was on November 30th. These students will be moving to primary 1 and will stay at Shine! Check out Set Her Free's (@setherfree) Instagram for further updates!

International Day of a Girl Child:
On October 12th, the girls at SHF celebrated International Day of a Girl Child! This day celebrates and recognizes the rights of girls and the unique challenges girls face worldwide. The Imara Girls Festival, which is a campaign that celebrates the roles and contributions of women and girls in advancing development at all levels, hosted the event. The girls had so much fun and did not want to leave until late in the night!
New SHF Site
Set Her Free has identified a new site in the suburbs of Kampala! This training center, located in the suburbs, trains 20 girls in vocational skills. The site is very new, having one room rented and turned into a space to complete the training. Set Her Free would like to provide shelter for their children while they are training in the future! We look forward to seeing this site continue to grow!
